Menopause Symptoms: Dry skin and changes in Skin Elasticity

As both estrogen and progesterone rapidly drop off with menopause, this can cause your skin to become dry. Hot flashes can cause redness and changing hormone levels may even cause acne. The rapid loss of collagen can lead to fine lines and wrinkles or cause sagging in the cheeks.
Another factor as you move through menopause is the effects of sun exposure on your skin. This is why it’s a good idea to use sunscreen in the years before mid-life.
Your face and body will feel drier than usual due to the lowering hormonal and collagen levels. Using a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid may help draw more moisture into the skin. Topping the moisturizer with facial oil adds even more hydration and you will find that eating hydrating foods, drinking plenty of water and getting quality sleep also aids in alleviating the skin dryness or loss of elasticity.
We're always looking forward to hearing your suggestions on new products which can help with keeping the skin hydrated and rejuvenated.
